I have always been an animal lover and must say I get it honestly. My father shows and breeds National Champion Arabian horses and has done so for over 35 years. My home was always filled with multiple dogs and often times the additional cat, bird or newt!I began my horse show career around 11 years old when I was given riding lessons from a local Saddlebred trainer. We continued and with the support of my mom, we began showing Saddlebreds.I loved it and had the time of my life!I was given a wonderful little pleasure pony named Fiddlestreet. We were proudly undefeated for 2 years in our 13 and under division. :-) As my Dad’s farm grew, he allowed me to start showing his Arabians. With both my parent's amazing help, I was able to win National Titles in over seven different Arabian Breed Divisions.I retired in 1999, my last year as a Jr. rider. Shortly thereafter, I went to college, married and started a family. I adopted my first Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in 2009 and fell in love with the breed. I joined the CKCSC-USA in 2012, began to volunteer and got involved.
In 2013, became interested in my regional AKC Cavalier club. I was a Director on the Board for the CCCKCSC for 2 years and in 2018 became the President for the Central Carolina Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club in North Carolina. I lived in Sunset Beach, North Carolina for 12 years and recently moved onto 4 acres of land here in Supply, NC about 30 minutes away from Sunset Beach. My husband and I have three beautiful children. I enjoy volunteering at our local church, where my husband is the minister of Youth and Family Life. My greatest joys in life are loving my Creator, loving my family, and being loved by my Cavalier king Charles Spaniels.
***My father is semi retired now. He does still dabble in the breeding and showing. You can check out his farm at www.dolorosa.com
Above all, I would not have been able to get my start in cavaliers, without the unending help and support of my friend and mentor Ginger Harrison of Bentwood Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. She took a chance on me after she saw my background in horse showing and my current efforts at the time. She was tremendously gracious and placed a Eng. Ch Pascavale Enchanted, ROM son, GCH Bentwood Imagistic with me. Click on his name to read more about him. He was out of her beloved "Jenny." Jenny or CKCSC-USA CH Maibee Just My Imagination, JW was a gorgeous Eng. Ch Maibee Make Believe, Eng. JW daughter, and cherished by Ginger. Ginger in fact showed her to become #2 in the CKCSC.
Since that time, she has placed many more of her amazing dogs with me. The most amazing and probably the dog of a lifetime is BIS MBISS GCHB & CKCSC-USA Bentwood Forestcreek Rob Red. You can read more about him on his page. I could go on and on, but I encourage you to read for yourself the amazing lady behind BENTWOOD Cavaliers. Click on the link below to read an article published about her in the CKCSC-USA Bulletin. She continues to help me today and practically everything I do, we do together. Enjoy and thank you for visiting Livelyoak Cavaliers!
